Who says one can not send java applications with their s40 java mobile phone. Any body who wishes to send mobile phone java applications can easily do that using their s40 java mobile phone with the help of blue ftp.

Blue ftp is a file manager for mostly s40 java mobile phone.it can be use to access the files and folders of your mobile phone. You can use blue ftp to perform many task with your java mobile phone like unzipping a zip file, compressing a file to a zip format, sending of files to other mobile phones.

So i am going to share with you a little trick you can use to send any .jar applications from your s40 java mobile phone to other mobile phone. so how do i send java applications from my s40 java mobile phone using blue ftp.

Step1 : google for blueftp and download it to your mobile phone.then install it.

Step2 :now go to xchanger.mobi to download any java application.when downloading from xchanger.mobi, their is an options as to whether you want to download either the .jar file,or zip file.if you choose the .jar it means you are going to download the raw application, but if you choose the zip file,it means the raw application is going to be inside a zip file which is what we want.so therefore, you should download the zip file.

Step3 :after downloading the zip file in step2. Open your blueftp and locate the zip file you have just downloaded from your mobile phone.

Step4 :after locating the zip file, open it and extract the jar file you will see inside. To extract it, just press the upper left soft key of your mobile phone, then choose extract this item or you can use the short cut by just pressing 1.

Step5 :when you choose the extract selected item,it will take you back so as to choose any folder you want to extract the file to. So choose any folder and press the upper left soft key and choose extract item here or simply use the short cut by pressing 3.

Step6 :after extracting the .jar file, you will see the extension being renamed to _jar in the folder you extracted it to.now all you need to do is to clear all the entry leaving only one letter with the _jar extension e.g. If the jar file is operamini.jar before, and after extracting it,it becomes operamini_jar.just press the upper left soft key and choose rename, then clear the operamini leave just one letter lets say the starting letter which is O. It will now become O_jar.

Step7 :you can now send the file to any phone by pressing the upper left soft key and choose send via bluetooth, search for the person phone and send it.after sending it,rename the O_jar from the person phone to O.jar, you are done.

You will now see the file as operamini.jar raw file.the person can then install it on his phone.just follow the same process each time you want to transfer application from your s40 java mobile phone to other person's phone.

NOTE: You can also download .jar file directly to your mobile phone using ucweb.ucweb will automatically rename it to _jar. Then follow the same process to send it.that's all.ENJOY.

Nokia Here gets iOS release

The iOS version of Nokia's cloud-based mapping service has been released on Apple's App Store. The service boasts a number of compelling features and undoubtedly aims to capitalize on the problems encountered by iPhone and iPad owners while using Cupertino's own Maps app.

Nokia's new service is an alternative to Apple Maps

Nokia Here provides access to all of the company's mapping data, regardless of the platform you're using. The web-based version has been available for use since the announcement on November 13th (compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari), and you can even fire up the service on devices running Android 2.2 and up.

In addition to the iOS app, users can access Here from PCs and mobile devices running Android 2.2+

The iOS app, based on HTML5, offers some compelling functionality, including the ability to save a geographical area for offline use and voice-guided walking directions. The service will also feature public transport directions, as well as the company's Collections service, which lets users save their favorite locations to a personal account. Lastly, Nokia has included a Community View feature which allows users to see (you guessed it) community-sourced information about the local area in addition to the company's own offering.

The release of the service on Apple's iOS is significant due to the negative reaction to the company's own Maps app. An upgrade to iOS 6 removed the popular Google Maps app from user's iPhone or iPad, replacing it with Apple Maps, the quality and accuracy of which fell short of what consumers have come to expect from Cupertino's products.
Nokia has also partnered with Mozilla, and plans to bring a mobile web version of the maps service to the company's Firefox OS sometime in 2013.
