Google Nose is April Fool’s Joke by Google

Ever wish you could search Google by smell? Now you can.
APRIL FOOLS!
Google, as per tradition, is out with their latest April Fools' Day prank to celebrate the practical joke-based holiday.
the world’s largest search giant has also something to make you fool very easily. The company has today introduced “Google Nose Beta“. Which is the main part of it’s today’s April Fool’s Day prank. Google says ‘smelling is believing’ but this one certainly smells a bit fishy.

Just search any word on Google and after that click on the “Nose” tab and after that on the “Try Google Nose“. When you will click on Smell button then it will say “Bring your nose as close as you can to the screen and press Enter”. But after that just click on “Need Help ?“. And it will say to note the following:
  • “418: Scent transfer protocol error” indicates system congestion; please try again later.
  • Due to technological constraints, not all smells are compatible with all devices.
  • Refrain from licking or biting your screen.
  • Try upgrading to a modern browser, such as Google Chrome.
  • It is April Fools’ Day.

A video introducing Google Nose (viewable above) explains that the feature allows users to "search for smells." Seems complicated, right? Well that's because it is (it's also fake). The product intersects "photons with infrasound waves" and "temporarily aligns molecules to emulate a particular scent." The "mobile aroma indexing program" at the heart of the product has amassed a "15 million scentibyte database of smells from around the world."
But what about mobile? Well, Google has you covered. Their "Android Ambient Odor Detection" allows you to collect smells on your phone.
It all sounds so great. But your nose will have to wait, because this incredible technology only exists in a fictional universe.
